16th March 2023, Altone Comes Alive!
The annual Altone Comes Alive event was held on 16th March 2023 in the beautiful suburb of Altone, located just 18 kilometers northeast of Perth’s central business district. Families and friends enjoyed a day filled with fun, food, and festivities.
And of course, one of the highlights of the event was the Goodwill Association’s Burmese “cuisine”, which was a complete sellout. Attendees savoured the delicious mo-hin-gha noodle soup, crispy pe-kyaw (split pea fritters), tasty spring rolls and samosas, provided by the association. Apologies to all coming for more!
In addition to the mouth-watering food, the event also featured live music and entertainment. There were plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, including face painting, a petting zoo, carnival games, and much more. Local market stalls showcased unique treasures and handmade crafts. The day concluded with spectacular songs and dances by various cultural groups that left everyone in awe.
Whether you were a local resident or a visitor to Perth, the Altone Comes Alive event was a must-attend. It was a day of fun and excitement that left lasting memories in the hearts of all who attended. Keep an eye out for the next Altone Comes Alive event and mark your calendar for another unforgettable experience!”
4th February 2023, Valentine’s Day Dance
The Goodwill Association hosted a Valentine’s Day Dance fundraiser, Saturday, 4th February, 2023, at the Laguna Veneto Social Club in Dianella, Perth to support our Homelessness Project in Perth and our Aged Care and Education Projects in Burma. The event was a success, with nearly 300 attendees who provided positive feedback.
The MUSTANGS BAND provided excellent musical entertainment throughout the night, and the dance floor was always full to overflowing. We extend a big thank you to all who attended the event and continue to support our cause.
We also want to express our gratitude to our generous sponsors Beyond Tools, Malaga, Saowanee’s Place, North Perth, Ms Margaret Quirk, MLA for Lansdale, New Park Lottery Centre & News agency, Girrawheen, as well as our committee members & supporters who contributed valuable raffle and door prizes. A special thank you goes to an anonymous donor for their donation of a Beachfront home as a special raffle prize.
Finally, we want to recognize and thank all of our dedicated volunteers who helped set up the hall, assisted in the kitchen and food preparation, and worked tirelessly to ensure a successful event. As the saying goes, “Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart!”
